About Fluap

Fluap is a Brazilian startup that works when a patient leaves the doctor's office with a prescription and doesn't know how to start treatment. It connects the patient from the consultation to accessing the medication, without requiring the doctor to do anything more than they've already done. The goal is simple: to ensure that the prescription becomes actual treatment.

The product was built to be the central product of this experience. It's the tool the patient uses right after the appointment to find discounts, activate lab benefits, and discover where to pick up their medication, all in less than a minute.

About the problem

Patients leaves the doctor's office unsure of the next step. Discount programs exist, pharmacies exist, laboratory benefits exist. But they are scattered across different websites, portals, and toll-free numbers. Without Fluap, the typical path was:

  • Prescription in hand, not knowing what to do with it

  • Discount available, but no one informed them

  • Call the toll-free number, wait on hold

  • Give up on searching for the program

  • Start treatment later — or don't start at all

The solution

A simple, free, and hassle-free search engine, accessible directly from your cell phone, without needing to download any app. The patient types the name of the medication, sees all available programs, and activates the benefit instantly. Fluap then sends the nearest pharmacy with the medication in stock and the pickup information via WhatsApp. Three characteristics guided the product:

  • Free — no charges to the user at any stage

  • Everything in one place — laboratory programs, discount cards, and pharmacy benefits all in one place

  • No bureaucracy — no long forms, no toll-free numbers, no waiting for a callback

Outcomes

The product was designed to be invisible. Not in the sense of being hidden, but in the sense that when it actually works, the patient simply begins treatment, without remembering having used any tool. That was the guiding principle of the project: the less friction, the better the adherence.
